A Place for Time /17
For Lewis Mumford
It begins in the ocean
and branches out across
a tree called life.
When it swims it flies and
when it learns it grows.
Finally, a crown colony
of mutual interest
over which the center defines moments
connecting time and space
with dynamic electrical impulse
toward freedom.
This then as a place in time,
creating other worlds,
which reflect back from when.
A time for place.
17.
